• Rugged barcode scanner enabled PDA to scan barcodes.
• Current product file and a site location ‘map’ are imported from a back office system (SAGE, SAP etc).
• Locations are assigned to handheld devices and handed out to personnel.
• Stock in each location is counted by scanning the barcode and entering the quantity.
• Data transfer can not take place until all locations assigned to a device have been counted.
• After data is transferred from the device a report showing the counted items is automatically displayed.
• Counted locations are assigned to a different device and the original count information is sent to that device.
• During the checking phase if a product is scanned which was not in the original count or a different quantity is entered then an audio visual warning is given and confirmation to proceed is requested.
• Data is transferred to the PC when all the locations have been checked.
• A discrepancy report is automatically displayed showing the differences between the first count and the check.
• A third count is carried out and the information is entered into the system using the Manual Edit facility.
• Various enquires are available such as displaying all locations not counted or counted and not checked; all locations of a counted product etc.
• On completion of the stock take the current stock levels from the back office system (SAGE, SAP etc) are imported.
• A discrepancy report is then automatically produced.
• A CSV file is produced which may contain the whole stock figures to over write the back office figures or just the discrepancies which are used as stock adjustments in the back office system.
• In some cases a plus/minus discrepancy report is printed and used to manually adjust the stock in the back office system where full integration is not required.
